Head of Russian Meg Company, Sergei Korotkov announced Saturday that his company is ready to provide Egypt with Mig-35 fighter jet in case of Egypt requested it. Korotkov said: "If Egypt decided to buy the aircraft, the company will be happy to provide it and if Egypt intends to hold talks with the company, the negotiations will proceed smoothly," adding that the company has no objection to this kind of cooperation. He said last year that his company is planning to hold talks in Egypt regarding the agreement between Russia and Egypt on the acquisition of Mig-35 fighter jet. The company's readiness to provide Egypt with the fighter jet comes amid rapprochement between Russia and Egypt, after Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Cairo in early February to hold talks with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. The two leaders pledged to take all necessary measures to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries. During Putin's visit the two sides agreed to mobilize efforts to settle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Syrian crisis, as well as the fight against terrorism, as Moscow offered to help Cairo in the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the country. This was followed by the decision of Russian Rosatom Company to build the nuclear power plant in Egypt, which consists of several units each with a capacity of 1200 megawatts. As the two countries are increasingly cooperating with one another in areas such as trade, space, tourism, and agriculture.
