Egypt's attorney general ordered public funds prosecutors on Tuesday to investigate new claims against former president Hosni Mubarak, according to Al Bawaba News. Reports filed by former Minister of Higher Education Hossam Eissa and other politicians and public figures accuse Mubarak of high treason as well as political and financial corruption. Those filing the claims have reportedly provided new evidence over the "Battle of the Camel" incident during the uprising that led to Mubarak's ouster in 2011. On February 2, 2011, protesters in Tahrir Square were attacked by people riding camels and horses, leaving a large number of killed and injured. Last November, the Cairo criminal court dropped all charges of killing protestors against Mubarak, his two sons Alaa and Gamal, and six security chiefs including the former minister of interior.
