Suez Canal revenues hit $482.3 million in October

The Suez Canal Authority announced Thursday in a statement that revenues from the global waterway recorded $482.3 million at the end of October, up from $469.7 million in September.
The fastest shipping route between Europe and Asia is one of Egypt's main sources of foreign currency.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced in August launching the Suez Canal Axis Development project which would take place to deepen the current channel and develop the entirety of the Suez Canal.
The project aims at expanding the Suez Canal region's role as a global, industrial, and logistics center that is environmentally balanced with an integrated economy. It is also projected to become global hub due to its logistics and industrial services.
