FOUR English teams reached the quarter-finals for the first time in UEFA Champions League history. The draw held two weeks pit Arsenal against Liverpool while Barcelona were paired with German side Schalke. AS Roma will face their worst nightmare as they were drawn with Manchester United. As for Chelsea, they got the seemingly easiest opponent as they were set to play Turkish club Fenerbahce. The first-leg matches will be played on 1-2 April while the return games will be staged on 8-9 April. Italy's only survivors AS Roma must repeat their clash with Manchester, who humiliated them 8-3 on aggregate in the same phase last season. It was Roma's heaviest European defeat in the history of Italian football. The Romans lost 7-1 at Old Trafford before Roma won 2-1 in Rome. AS Roma midfielder David Pizarro says his side are ready "to take revenge" for their 7-1 defeat by Manchester United after the clubs were drawn together in the quarter-finals for the second successive season. In an all-English tie, Arsenal, who ousted holders Milan in the last round, will play last year finalists Liverpool, the five-time champions. "It is an interesting and challenging draw," Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger told the club website. Wenger said he was confident his Arsenal side can knock Liverpool out of the Champions League. "We can beat them and therefore it is the form of the day that will be the decider. We will focus and concentrate to be at our best on the day. "You know, when you have four clubs from England in the quarter-finals, you will have to play one or two at some stage. If you want to go to the final and win the final you have to get through that," Wenger said. Arsenal are still chasing their first Champions League title.
