Title holders Barcelona take on 2005 winners Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 while Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho faces a return to Porto. In the draw that was held in UEFA headquarters in Switzerland on Friday, Primera Liga leaders Barcelona will have to overcome five-time European champions Liverpool in order to defend their title. Portuguese boss Mourinho will have an emotional return to the side whom he guided to Champions League glory in 2004 before taking the helm at Chelsea. Spanish giants Real Madrid, who hold the record of nine Champions League trophies, were paired with German champions Bayern Munich while Serie A leaders Inter Milan tackle Valencia.
Lyon, who won five French League titles in a row and on course for the sixth, play Italy's AS Roma and third Italian representative AC Milan were drawn against Scotland's Glasgow Celtic. Last year's runners-up Arsenal were handed a tie against Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven while Manchester United face French side Lille. The first-legs will be played on February 20th and 21st and the second-legs will take place in the sixth and seventh of March.
