Horoscopes:
Going for gold
By Imhotep
A change of focus to keep your motivation my dear Scales, as people born under the Cardinal Air sign of Libra (23 Sep-23 Oct) are sometimes called, is what you most need at the moment.
My dear Librans, Imhotep understands that you are in the mood to mingle, but not just any company will do. Restrict yourself to tried-and-true dear ones -- the kind of people you know you can trust your soul to.
A long-distance loved one is about to become the centre of attention. The time is absolutely right for you to get back in touch with someone you've been missing for a long, long time. Don't worry about their response. As a matter of fact, don't worry about anything.
Librans typically indulge in the habitual striving for excellence and success. The legendary Brazilian football star Pele is a typical Libran. Australian superstar swimmer Ian Thorpe exemplifies the Libran quest for excellence. Germany's Jana Henke is another Libran. Mind you, Librans are also known to take the shortest route to success. Lazy by nature, they will not run when they can enjoy a leisurely walk.
But a note of warning for Librans this September: you'll have to make a little go a long way.
Eagles, as people born under the Fixed Water sign of Scorpio (24 Oct-23 Nov) are sometimes called, are strong-willed and single- minded beings. For the Eagle, and not the Scorpion, is the true representative of this powerful and combative Sun sign.
Eagles know what they want and go for it. They instinctively reach for the heavens above, but they also swoop down to tear apart their prey.
Britain's Prince Charles is a typical Eagle. He knows how to get what he wants. British diving hero Leon Taylor is another accomplished Scorpio, or rather Eagle, who performed brilliantly at the Olympic games in Athens. He went for gold.
Eagles cannot face the scrimping lives of the underdog. And, in September they will not have to answer to anyone.
Born fighters, Eagles are skilled in the art of planning the best way to gain an advantage or to achieve success.
The month ahead promises plenty of opportunities for Eagles to show their mettle.
Aflame with passion, Eagles will attract the attention of the objects of their desire in September. All is not smooth sailing, however. A lover's tiff, is a distinct possibility.
Still, by the end of the month, Eagles will force their lovers to submit to their carnal desires in unique and unusual ways.
Once people born under the Mutable Fire sign of Sagittarius (24 Nov-23 Dec) have decided on a particular course of action, they are like an unstoppable juggernaut. And in September they'll charge ahead.
Archers, as Sagittarians are sometimes called, will face unexpected challenges in the weeks ahead. But don't worry dear Sagittarians. Someone near and dear to you will most likely see what you're up against and make a charming, well-timed offer to help you out.
Many Sagittarians have not been happy with the way their lives are heading. And they shall take bold steps to right all the wrongs. Archers instinctively understand the importance of examining their motives, before they embark on a venture. Some Sagittarians, however, are too impatient for deep introspection. Step by step, my dear Archers, you can gently bring yourself into greater clarity and awareness.
Indeed, Archers will have ample opportunity to put their feet up and reflect on their lives in September. The contemplative mood of Sagittarians will, however, soon translate into bold action.
Someone special will be telling you a lot of sweet nothings. If it's music to your ears and it strikes an inner chord that hasn't been touched in a while, just smile and enjoy.
Look out next week for Imhoep's reading of Capricon, Aquarius and Pisces
