The fourth International Taekwondo Luxor Championship culminated in a huge success for host nation Egypt. Egyptian athletes stunned their opponents as they clinched first place in both the men's and women's events by winning a total of 20 medals -- four gold, four silver and 12 bronze. Altogether 450 male and female athletes participated in the four-day event representing Belgium, Greece, Italy, China, Turkey, Bahrain, France, Saudi Arabia, Austria, Sweden, US, Iraq, Libya, Tunisia, Sudan, Palestine, DR Congo, Morocco, Uganda, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Ghana and Gabon. The gold medals were won by Moeaz Nabil in the 54kg weight category, and Seif Eissa of Shooting Club in 74kg. Eissa had won the bronze medal at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games held in Nanjing, China. Mohamed Ayman also claimed gold in the +87kg weight category. The fourth gold medal was scooped up by Nour Abdel-Salam, who plays for Alexandria Sporting Club, in 49kg. Silver medals were won by Radwa Abdel-Kader (52kg) and Tamer Abdel-Moneim (63kg). The veteran Abdel-Moneim, a former taekwondo world champion, was dubbed Al-Hadari of taekwondo after Egypt's football goalkeeper Essam Al-Hadari who is currently playing at the age of 44. Bronze medals went to Abdel-Rahman Al-Gohari, Seham Abdullah, Rawan Refaie, Ahmed Rawi, all in 68kg, Youssef Ali (63kg), Rawan Ashraf (53kg), Hamdi Hussein, Mohamed Ghazlan (+87), Karim Khairi (-80kg), Mina Maher(+73kg)and Seham Al-Sawalhi (-67kg).
