Bouquet…….A Visit to Nubia (April 2016), is the title of a unique collective exhibition currently on display at Duroub gallery located in Garden City. It features paintings by Gihan Maher, Hannan Youssef, Donia Al-Husseini and Rasha Soleiman, Randa Ismail, Mona Noweir, Mohamed Moukhlis, Nahed Shaker, Wael Himdan, Nagwa Mahdi, Wagih Yassa among otherswith artist Mohamed Khedr as the guest of honour. The distinguished galaxy of painters travelled to Nubia, the southernmost part of Egypt, a land of rich heritage that gives the feeling of the importance of this unique visit to Nubia as a communication link between the two continents as it separates African Egypt and its assets in Asia and the Mediterranean and between the real Africa. Late thinker Gamal Hamdan described Nubia as “the roof of the valley because it is far south of Egypt and the highest sector in Egypt and the valley's longest natural regions”. Their tour included areas such as the West of Seheil, Heisa Island, Shedida and Aswan. Since Nubia has a special allure, and Nubians are the most Egyptians who are keen to preserve their heritage, the artists have been inspired in their paintings and drawings by the architecture of the Nubian houses and the decorations that adorn its facades and in addition to the nature that surrounded them including palm trees and Nile boats and birds. The artists showcase 30 paintings in different art media and various sizes, each according to his art domain in the fields: painting using different materials, mosaic, and handmade silver accessories. For artist Khedr, the guest of honour, he is a Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University graduate in 1993 at the decor Department, the expressionistic arts section. He later received a master's degree diploma from the Higher Institute of Folk Arts from the Academy of Arts in 1995. The exhibition continues until 10 November
