Light and Nature, is a thrilling exhibition of paintings by the exceptionally gifted artist Zeinab Abdel-Aziz currently on display at the Egyptian Centre for International Cultural Cooperation. The exhibition showcases the artist's newest collection of water-colour paintings that reflect her infatuation with flowers, plants and nature depicted in a unique combination of colours. As an impressionist and figurative artist, she managed to distinguish her style from among her peers using her very own palette of colours. Born in Alexandria in1935, Abdel-Aziz obtained her Bachelor of French literature, Cairo University in1962. She received her master degree on French civilization and history of art, Cairo University, about “The Eugène Delacroix Journal” in 1967. In 1974, she completed her PhD in French literature, Cairo University, subject: “The Humanism of Vincent van Gogh, after his correspondence.” She is a member in the Egyptian Writers Union, a founding member of the Egyptian Syndicate of Plastic Artists. Cited as a painter and writer in: Rifacimento International, International Leaders of Achievements and Five Thousand Personalities of the World. Abdel-Aziz has private collections in Egypt and abroad. She participated in 51 local and international exhibitions between 1955 and 2005. Her personal collections are on display at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Museum of Modern Art, Bank Misr, the Cairo Opera House and the International Conference Center. Light and Nature promises viewers to experience a new addition to the impressionist school of painting. The show is on until 19 October.
