Egypt's Ambassador to Ramallah Ihab Suleiman extended congratulations to Hussein Al-Sheikh on his appointment as Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and Vice President of the State of Palestine. Ambassador Suleiman highlighted the critical historical juncture facing the Palestinian cause and praised the recent reform efforts undertaken by the Palestinian Authority, which were previously announced by President Mahmoud Abbas during the recent extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo. He reaffirmed Egypt's full support for the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinian people during the current critical period, stressing Egypt's ongoing efforts to resume a ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to enable early recovery and reconstruction in line with the Arab-Islamic plan. He also reiterated Egypt's firm rejection of any attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause through the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land.
