Egypt announced on Monday that the highly anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) will officially open on July 3rd, with a grand ceremony attended by world leaders and international dignitaries. Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly chaired a high-level meeting to follow up and finalise preparations, following President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's announcement of the inauguration date. The global event will feature extensive media coverage, showcasing the museum's unparalleled collection. The Egyptian government is ramping up security, logistics, and infrastructure, ensuring airports, transport networks, and the museum's surroundings are fully prepared. Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir confirmed that three nearby metro stations will be completed, key roads and the Ring Road are being upgraded, and public transport improvements are underway. Invitations have been extended to royalty, heads of state, and corporate leaders, highlighting the global significance of the event. To ensure a seamless inauguration, the government has assigned specific tasks to each relevant ministry, with regular monitoring and site inspections.
