Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim, better known as Kahraba (electricity) simply can't stop scoring at the moment. The rising Egyptian star scored his third goal in a row as he guided Luzern to a 1-0 win over Lausanne Sport away from home. Kahraba is growing in confidence with each game and this outing was no exception as he punished the opponents for their silly mistake as a defender was trying to pass the ball back to his keeper with his head only to find the emphatic Egyptian intercepting the pass and slotting the ball via his second attempt after the keeper saved his first shot. This game was only Kahraba's third start with his new team and obviously the Egyptian attacker is justifying his manager's decision to start with him week in week out with some dazzling performances and decisive goals. Kahraba's goals and play drew massive praise from pundits and football fans in Switzerland and more importantly from his manager who indicated after the game that Kahraba's quick progress is “scary” and that he and the club did not expect such an impact from the Egyptian star. He added that usually it takes young players leaving their countries for the first time in their career a long time to settle down and show their true worth but in Kahraba's case “that isn't the story by any means as the boy is already a fans favourite” and a star at his team. Kahraba himself said after the game that he's living a dream at the moment and all what he hopes for is that he continues his current scoring form aiming to challenge Mohamed Salah and Al-Nenni for the league title which he sees as possible. You can't argue with Kahraba after his winning goal this week took Luzern to third place in the league table only four points off leaders Basel. Still in Switzerland, Salah and Al-Nenni endured a disappointing weekend as they were held to a goalless draw away from home against Zurich. Both Al-Nenni and Salah didn't start the game with the latter coming on in the 76th minute as Basel searched for a winner that never came. The whole of the team was off form and couldn't threaten the opponents' goal as much as they would have liked. Yakin decided to start with Salah on the bench but brought him on too late in the game which didn't give our Egyptian magician a chance to change the result. On the other hand Al-Nenni didn't see action this week as Basel weren't in need of defensive substitutions as they focused more on attacking. The draw meant Basel stayed top of the league but their lead could be cut to just one point if Grasshopper manage to win their game later this week. In the Champions League, Basel were denied an extremely important three points away from home as they conceded a goal in the last minute of the game which meant their clash against Steaua Bucharest ended 1-1 in Bucharest. This equaliser is a huge blow to Basel's ambitions of landing a place in the knockout stages as Schalke is expected to defeat Steaua in both legs. The other game of the group ended in a 3-0 win for Chelsea over Schalke in Germany which should have been in Basel's favour before they conceded that late equaliser. Chelsea and Schalke now sit top of the group with six points from three games while Basel is third with four points. Salah played the full game and had a good outing overall but couldn't find that killer pass or vital goal that would have sealed a win for his side in their quest to qualify for the next round. Al-Nenni came on for the last 15 minutes and defended superbly in the middle of the park and passed well but unfortunately he couldn't prevent his side from conceding in the last minute. In England, Hull City and Ahmed Al-Mohamadi in particular were harshly denied a point in London as they faced Tottenham away from home and lost by a single goal that came from the penalty spot in the 81st minute after the referee adjudged that Al-Mohamadi handled the ball inside the box from Vertonghen's cross. The decision was extremely harsh on Al-Mohamadi and his team who played a magnificent game against one of the best teams in the country at the moment. Hull City's manager Steve Bruce was as shocked as much as his players who didn't think for a second the referee would point to the spot and said after the game, “It is an absolute joke decision. It hits his leg for a start and then goes up and hits his arm, how do you give a penalty in that situation?” Al-Mohamadi had a very good game on the right flank and defended brilliantly against Aaron Lennon and Townsend and will be hugely disappointed alongside his teammates with the outrageous decision that denied them a well earned point. On another note, more disappointing news was there for Gedo who suffered a recurrence of the foot injury that ruled him out for the last month of last season in the championship. The injury was suffered in a game with the reserves as Gedo was playing with them in recent games to get him up to full speed before appearing on the first team. The extent of the injury is still unknown at the moment but hopefully it'll just be a minor one that won't keep him out of action for long. The defeat meant Hull City dropped to 10th place in the league table. Still in England, Adam Al-Abd's Brighton will welcome Watford at home later this week as they'll try to win their first game in five weeks after drawing two and losing two in their last four. Al-Abd is not expected to take any part in the game once again. In Portugal, another Egyptian star in the form of Ahmed Hassan Kouka suffered a disappointing defeat that saw him substituted at half time at the hands of Gil Vicente. Kouka is somewhat having a slow start to the season so far and managed only one goal from the spot kick. The problem with Kouka's goal drought is that he seems short of confidence at the moment which affected his performances big time with him getting substituted at half time for the first time since joining Rio Ave. Let's hope Kouka will soon start firing at all fronts like last season. Rio Ave dropped to eighth in the league after the defeat. Arab and African: In Germany, Tunisian midfielder Anis Ben Hatira scored a goal for Hertha Berlin as they suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of German and European Champions Bayern Munich. Still in Germany, Gabon striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored the first goal for Dortmund as they defeated Schalke 3-1 away from home in a game that saw Ghanaian star Kevin Prince Boateng miss a penalty. In Spain, there was an all-African victory as Levante defeated Espanyol 3-0 thanks to a brace from the magnificent Moroccan Nabil El Zhar and a goal from Senegalese star Babacar Diawara. In France, Malian star Cheikh Diabate scored a goal for Bordeaux as they defeated Montpellier 2-0 at home.
