Hull City was extremely unlucky not to leave the game with all three points against Cardiff City at home. The game ended in a 1-1 draw as Hull missed several key chances until they conceded an equaliser in the second half. Ahmed Al-Mohamadi played the full game yet again and had a very good game on the right hand side as he delivered some fantastic crosses inside the box throughout the game but his teammates couldn't finish them off. Gedo was not included in the match squad as he's yet to arrive in England which will probably mean he'll miss next week's game against Newcastle as well. Steve Bruce will surely be hoping Gedo can have the same impact as last year as his team is hugely suffering in front of the goal this season due to the lack of clinical strikers in the team. The new signing Danny Graham is yet to find the back of the net this season and looks short of confidence as he's missed some clear cut chances so far. The failure to sign Ireland international Shane Long means Gedo's main rival for number 9 of the team will be Danny Graham which makes it easy for Gedo to snatch a starting spot as soon as gets up to speed. The likes of Sagbo and Boyd will also be pushing for a starting berth in the coming weeks but Gedo can still hope to pip all three to a starting spot in the team. No doubt a team that scored two goals in their first four games will have to score more goals if they want to ensure they stay up this season. Let's hope Gedo will flourish and score plenty of goals when he gets ready. The draw meant Hull City slipped to 15th place this week with one win, one draw and two losses from the first four games. Still in England, Adam Al-Abd was an unused substitute as Brighton snatched a valuable point away from home against Reading in an ugly game that ended in a 0-0 draw. The game saw two red cards and seven yellow cards and very few chances with both teams focusing more on some heated exchanges and ugly personal battles. Al-Abd once again watched from the bench waiting for a chance to reclaim a starting place in the team. The draw meant Brighton moved to 14th place. In Belgium, Lierse suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Club Brugge 4-1 away from home. Hossam Ghali and Ahmed Samir Farag both started the game with the later playing the full game and Ghali leaving the pitch two minutes from time. Lierse went into the game knowing they have little chance of causing an upset as Club Brugge is second in the league table and rarely gets defeated at home. Ghali had an average first half and seemed a bit frustrated by the lack of assistance from his teammates as they player a very poor 45 minutes and rarely threatened the goal. Lierse started the second half in better fashion but still conceded a second goal which made life difficult for them at that point. However, they managed to score a consolation goal in the 70th minute and had a go at Club Brugge hoping they can snatch an equaliser but huge spaces were left behind the defenders as they attacked which resulted in conceding another two goals in the final minutes to make the score 4-1. Farag had an above average game and attacked well in the second half and tested the goalkeeper with a powerful shot in the second half. Lierse move to 12th after the loss. In the absence of Egyptian stars Mohamed Salah and Al-Nenni, Basel cruised to the quarter finals of the Swiss Cup as they defeated third division side Munsingen courtesy of a second half strike from Delgado. Al-Nenni missed the game because of the shoulder injury he sustained with the national team two weeks ago while Salah was rested for the Champions League tie against Chelsea in London next Wednesday. In Portugal, Ahmed Hassan Kouka and his team Rio Ave suffered their second consecutive defeat in the league as they lost by a single goal against Vitoria Guimaraes at home. After winning their first two games of the campaign Rio Ave have now lost two and won two from the first four games which is certainly extremely annoying to their fans. Surprisingly, Kouka started the game on the bench and came on in the 63rd minute when the score was 0-0. Kouka seemed determined to add to his one goal in the league so far but unfortunately he didn't get any chances to do so until his team conceded at the death in the 90th minute after some sloppy defending. The loss meant Rio Ave slipped to 6th place in the league table. Mohamed Abdel-Moneim Kahraba played for the last 20 minutes as Luzern followed Basel to the quarter finals of the Swiss Cup when they defeated Terre Sainte 4-1. Kahraba arrived in the game when the score was already 4-1 and couldn't add his name to the score sheet but had a very decent cameo in which he showed very good touches and a couple of brilliant pieces of skill to beat defenders. The young Egyptian attacker is expected to be a regular starter for his new team once he settles. On another note, a very impressive Egyptian national team sealed its place in the final qualifying round for the World Cup as they defeated Guinea 4-2 to finish top of the group. The national team was extremely impressive in attack but looks very suspect defensively which is a big concern. Al-Abd who started the game looked shaky and short of confidence and his lack of playing time was very obvious. He scored an amusing own goal in the first half after miss-hitting a clearance inside the 6 yards to open the scoring for the visitors. Lierse midfielder Ghali levelled the score with a brilliant strike after controlling the ball with a deft piece of skill before his volley found the back of the net. The evergreen Mohamed Abu Treika scored Egypt's second goal from the penalty spot before Guinea tied due to a mistake from Al-Abd yet again. Basel superstar Mohamed Salah added a third goal after he rounded the keeper and slotted home after an unbelievable through ball from man of the match Abu Treika. Another killer pass from Treika in the last minute of the game sent Wigan's former star Amr Zaki one on one with the goalkeeper and the Egyptian star scored the final goal of the game to ensure the progress of the Egyptian national team to the final qualifying in style.
