Mohamed Nagi Gedo can't stop scoring for Hull City. That's the headline you find almost everywhere in England these days. The prolific pharaoh was once again the star of the show as he notched his first brace in English football as Hull City defeated Birmingham City 5-2 with our other Egyptian and fan favourite Ahmed Al-Mohamadi adding two assists to his own CV. Gedo scored his first goal of the night and his team's second as he raced through on goal using his speed and leaving his marker shell-shocked, finishing neatly with the side of his foot. Gedo's other goal was his side's fifth and it came after his compatriot Al-Mohamadi put in a magnificent cross for Gedo who scored with his head confidently. At the end of the game, Hull City fans were singing ‘If you want to score a goal get Gedo on the phone' which drew a very big smile on Gedo's face after the final whistle. The unstoppable Gedo will certainly be amazed and delighted with his start in English football and one can only hope he can stay in this lethal form until the end of the season alongside the magnificent Al-Mohamadi who's already a favourite at the club. Al-Mohamadi's wedding was just two days before the game but he still insisted on taking the first plane going to England the following day after his wedding to get into the squad and play the game. Steve Bruce was full of praise for both Al-Mohamadi and Gedo for their vital contribution in the massive win. However, a third Egyptian, Ahmed Fathi, failed to make the match squad as Hull regained second place behind leaders Cardiff in the Championship, a notch below the Premiership, benefitting from a draw for rivals Watford at Wolves. Elsewhere in England, Adam Al-Abd and Brighton continued their unbelievable form as they won their third game in a row and their fourth in the last five games. Al-Abd had a very good day at the office as Brighton defeated Huddersfield 4-1 in a one-sided game. Al-Abd and his fellow defenders are simply in scintillating form as they conceded just two goals in the last five games with Al-Abd playing all these games and leading by example. The win took Brighton to sixth place which means they'll take part in the play-offs if they stay there. In the Swiss league, both Mohamed Salah and Al Nenni featured as Basel managed to beat Servette 2-1 away from home. Our two Egyptians started the match on the bench and came on in the 60th minute when the score was 1-1. Salah was a threat in his 30-minute cameo as his trickery and speed caused plenty of problems for the opponents and nearly scored with two attempts on goal. Moreover, Al Nenni impressed in the middle of the park when he came on and managed to break up several counter attacks for the hosts in the final 10 minutes as they were looking for an equaliser. League leader Grasshopper drew this weekend which cut the gap to just two points at the top of the table. In Italy, Ahmed Hegazi's Fiorentina managed to clinch all three points as they defeated Chievo 2-1 at home. Once again the young Egyptian wasn't part of the squad that played this weekend as he's still recovering from his nasty knee injury. The win took Fiorentina to sixth place. In the UAE, there was bad news for Mohamed Abu Treika and Banni Yas fans as the Egyptian legend could not recover in time to take any part in their last two games. The first game was against Saudi club Al Faisaly in the Gulf cup and which ended in a 4-3 defeat for Treika's side. Their second game came in the UAE league as they faced Dibba el Fujairah away from home and managed to defeat them 2-1 to ensure their good form in the league continues. Abu Treika was expected to recover in time to face Al Faisaly but did not catch that second game. Let's hope Treika recovers soon and returns to action. In Belgium, there was no action for Hani Ramzi and his many Egyptian stars as Lierse did not have any games to play this weekend. Arab and African: In England, Senegalese star Demba Ba scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea defeated West Brom 1-0 at home. South African star Steven Pienaar grabbed a goal and an assist as Everton defeated Reading 3-1 at home. Benin's sensation Stephan Sessegnon scored a very late equaliser as Sunderland came from two goals down to draw with Fulham 2-2 at home. In Italy, Ghanaian star Kevin Prince Boateng scored the second goal for AC Milan as they defeated Lazio 3-0 at home. In France, Senegalese star Souleymane Camara scored the second goal for Montpellier as they defeated Rennes 2-0. Ivorian star Salomon Kalou scored the winning goal as Lille defeated Bordeaux 2-1 at home.
