Egypt U-23s to compete in North Africa championship
Hossam El-Badry to call young players from the Premier League for the Pharaohs U-23 camp, ahead of North Africa Championship

Egypt under-23 team are competing in the North African tournament taking place in Algeria from 25 May to 5 June.
Manager of the Olympic Pharaohs Hossam El-Badry has given the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) the green light to play in the championship, as good preparation for the 2016 Brazil Olympic Games qualifiers.
"I told the association that calling players from the top flight league to the upcoming training camp will be important, including those who play in big teams, such as Ahly and Zamalek," El-Badry, former Ahly, Sudan's Merriekh and Libya's Ahly coach told Ahram Sports Monday.
"Playing with teams from North Africa is very useful because Algeria, Libya and Tunisia are powerful and highly competitive," he added.
The 53-year-old tactician, who tested dozens of players in two closed camps since taking charge of the team late November, is to lead the Olympic Pharaohs until the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Upon his appointment, El-Badry vowed to build a new generation of skilled players to aid the senior team in their bid to reach the 2018 World Cup.
Under former coach Hani Ramzy, Egypt qualified for the 2012 Olympics in London for the first time in 20 years, but were knocked out of the quarter-finals after slumping to a 3-0 defeat to Japan.
