Zidan aims to become first Egyptian to win German Bundesliga
Mohamed Zidan enthusiastically awaits a looming Bundesliga triumph for his club Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund forward Mohamed Zidan said on Friday he was eager to become the first Egyptian player to win the Bundesliga title.
The highly-flying team are on the verge of clinching the title for the first time since 2002 as they top the table with 65 points, seven ahead of nearest challengers Bayer Leverkusen with six matches to go.
Zidan missed large parts of the season due to some niggling injuries but he still fancies the possibility of lifting the Bundesliga trophy.
“I want to become the first Egyptian player to achieve that feat,” the 29-year-old, who was a regular member of Dortmund's starting line-up last season but fell down the pecking order this term, told his official website.
“We want to concentrate our remaining league games to go further away from Leverkusen and win the title.
“I'm not considering leaving Dortmund at the end of the season, I still have one more year to run on my contract. I want to play in the European Champions League next season.”
Striker Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido' and veteran midfielder Ahmed Hassan are the only Egyptian players to have won domestic leagues with European teams.
Mido won the Dutch league with Ajax Amsterdam in 2002, five years before Hassan led Anderlecht to their 29thBelgian league title.
Zidan joined Dortmund from Hamburg in the summer of 2008 to link up with coach Jurgen Klopp again after both men enjoyed a successful stint at lowly Mainz in 2007.
The Egyptian international made an impact in his first two seasons, scoring 13 goals and creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities, mainly for strike partner Lucas Barrios of Paraguay.
He has been plagued by persistent knee and back complaints this term, losing out on his regular place in Dortmund's starting line up.
“I'm fully fit to play full games but I'm not playing regularly because the team is already doing very well, so the technical staff prefers not to make major changes at such a crucial stage of the season,” Zidan explained.
