Preview: Zamalek eyeing second win under Mido against leaders Petrojet Zamalek take on surprise package Petrojet on Sunday in their second game under new coach Mido
Mido will face his first genuine test as Zamalek's coach when his side host Petrojet in Sunday's Egyptian Premier League match. The rookie coach's debut saw Zamalek defeat lowly Minya 1-0 after laying siege to their opponent's area for most of the match, initiating some slick moves which apparently bore the hallmarks of the former Tottenham, Roma and Marseille striker. But surprise package Petrojet, who top Group B with 13 points from six matches, three ahead of Zamalek who have a game in hand, are likely to give less room to Zamalek to operate near their penalty area. Mido will be hoping his players improve their efficiency in front of goal, having wasted several goal-scoring opportunities against Minya. Zamalek's newly-signed striker Dominique Da Silva of Mauritania, who joined after his contract with arch-rivals Ahly expired, may make his debut against Petrojet. Central defender Mahmoud Fathallah, w regular in the heart of Zamalek's backline, and right-back Ahmed Samir were left out of the team's squad for technical reasons. Ismaily, who also have 13 points, will be looking to maintain their fine run when they meet seventh-placed Wadi Degla and Haras El-Hodoud will be eyeing their third successive victory when they face Masry. Defending champions and Group A leaders Ahly face Dakhleya in a rescheduled match on Monday.
