Zamalek defender Soliman out of Wadi Degla game due to injury Salah Soliman to miss out on Zamalek's league game against Wadi Degla due to a knee injury
Defender Salah Soliman has been left out of Zamalek's squad for Saturday's Egyptian Premier League game against Wadi Degla after picking up a knee injury. Salah, who joined Zamalek in the close season, has been coach Hassan Shehata's preferred option to partner Hani Saied in the heart of Zamalek's defence during the past few games. Egypt defender Mahmoud Fathallah, who fell out of favour with Shehata for some disappointing displays in the early stages of the season, returned to Zamalek's roster and is likely to play alongside Saied against Wadi Degla. “I ask Zamalek's fans to back the team. I and my teammates promise to do our best to lead the league table,” Fathallah said on the club's official website. Newly-arrived striker Hussein Hamdi and attacking midfielders Mohamed Ibrahim and Alaa Ali were excluded from the squad by former Egypt coach Shehata. Zamalek were due to face Wadi Degla on the opening day of the season but the latter club's bus crash prompted the Egyptian Football Association to delay the game. The White Knights, who were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Petrojet in their previous game, are fourth in the 19-team league table with 20 points. Wadi Deglia lie 12th on 11 points.
