Zamalek midfielder Mahmoud 'Shikabala' Abdel-Razek has rejected a move to Turkey's Gaziantepspor, according to his agent Samir Abdel-Tawab Shikabala, who has been absent from training in protest over unpaid dues for over a month now, has been strongly linked with Gaziantepspor during the past few days. However, Abdel-Tawab told Ahram Sports that his client had rebuffed the offer due to his desire to play for "a big club in Europe." "Actually, it has nothing to do with the offer itself, but it's rather his wish to play for a decent European side." Following reports linking Shikabala with Gaziantepspor, Zamalek were quick to warn the Turkish side against signing Shika, whose contract has yet to expire with the Cairo giants. Despite new manager Mido's attempts to talk Shikabala out of leaving, the midfield marvel seems firm on his decision to depart. It remains to be seen what the 27-year-old's destination will be as the January transfer window will close in a few days. Shikabala had two previous stints abroad, having joined Greek side PAOK in 2005 before returning two years later to Zamalek, who then loaned him out to UAE outfit Al-Wasl last term.
