Cairo giants Zamalek failed to narrow the gap with Group B leaders Ismaily after holding to a 1-1 draw against Haras El-Hodoud in the 5thmatchday of the Egyptian Premier League. Zamalek got only one point from the draw, falling to fourth place with seven points, three behind leaders Ismaily. The Whites were lucky to have an early lead, with striker Mohamed Ibrahim scoring the opener from a penalty only eight minutes in. Despite the ongoing crowd ban for security reasons, Zamalek's hardcore football fans, Ultras White Knights, stormed the stands 15 minutes after the start of the the second half, forcing the referee to stop the match. According to Egyptian Football Association (EFA) regulations, a team is awarded a walkover win if their opponents' fans defy a crowd ban. The supporters are to be given 15 minutes to vacate the stadium. Otherwise the match will be called off. Zamalek Ultras members challenged the ban by lighting fireworks for a few minutes, before finally leaving the stadium and allowing the match to resume. Clashes were reported to have erupted between White Knights members and security forces after the fans exited the stadium. Three were reportedly arrested. Sunday's match witnessed the debut of Zamalek's latest signing and former Ismaily winger Omar Gamal, when manager Helmy Toulan swapped him with teammate Omar Gaber in the 65thminute.
