Olympics chief Thomas Bach says terrorism ''must never triumph'' and believes Russia will deliver ''safe and secure'' Winter Olympics despite two recent deadly attacks in Volgograd. In his New Year's message, the president of the International Olympic Committee condemned what he called ''cowardly terrorist attacks'' which killed more than 30 people. Bach, who succeeded Jacques Rogge in September, also said the ''Sochi Olympic Games should be a demonstration of unity in diversity and of remarkable athletic achievements - not a platform for politics or division.'' The bombings at the main railway station of Volgograd and on a city trolleybus killed 34 people and wounded scores.
