After losing 2-1 to Moroccan side Raja Casablanca in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup, Monterrey coach Jose Guadalupe Cruz stated that his team deserved the loss, but promised to work hard to beat Ahly in the fifth place decider. "We started the tournament with a great ambition, but we failed to achieve it," Cruz told the post-game press conference. The CONCACAF champions Monterrey are scheduled to face Ahly, who lost to China's Guangzhou Evergrande 2-0 also in the quarterfinals Saturday, in a fifth place decider Wednesday. "I will face Ahly same way as playing against Raja Casablanca," Cruz added."All the African and Arabian teams play with motivation and enthusiasm," he said. "We will work hard to score early, to beat Ahly and gain the fifth place," Cruz vowed.
