Ghana coach confident of beating Egypt again Kwesi Appiah will send his team out on Tuesday to redeem goals lost, rather than rest five goals up following their October 6-1 rout of Egypt in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah revealed Sunday that he has worked hard with his players in the hope of repeating, on Tuesday, the famous win over Egypt in the second leg of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. Egypt suffered a 6-1 loss to Ghana in the first leg of the qualifiers in October, so the Pharoahs need to score five goals when they host Ghana in Egypt on Tuesday in the second leg. "I said in Ghana that we've played the first half of the competition and we are now going to play the second half," Appiah was quoted as saying on Ghanasoccernet. "I have made the players aware that we should get on that Egyptian pitch with the mind that we are even down by a goal or two and we are going to redeem those two goals," he added. "For that reason, we are going out there to play all out and try and win." the Ghana tactician concluded. The Black Stars are favourites to book a third successive appearance at the World Cup, having reached the tournament in 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa.
