Ghana's struggle with injuries continued after veteran keeper Richard Kingson picked up an injury ahead of his side's crucial clash against Egypt in the first leg of the World Cup qualifying playoff on 15 October. The 35-year-old was substituted after 58 minutes during a Cypriot League game on Monday, with his club Doxa conceding twice following his substitution to suffer a 2-0 defeat by Apollon. According to Ghanaian site ghanasoccernet, Kingson will undergo tests on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury and how long will he be out of action. Kingson has been a regular starter with Doxa since joining in the summer, prompting coach kwesi Appiah to give him a Ghana call-up for the first time in two years. He was in line to feature against the Pharaohs in Kumasi but the injury will cast doubts over his availability. Fatau Dauda, who plays for Orlando Pirates in Souht Africa, and Norway-based Adam Kwarasey are the two other goalies in Ghana's 24-man roster. Appiah seems to be cursed by injuries ahead of the 15 October encounter as has already lost midfielder Mohammed Rabiu and defence duo Jonathan Mensah and Jon Boye. Schalke forward Kevin-Prince Boateng is also doubtful for the game after sustaining an injury last weekend.
