Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah says he 'has respect for Egypt' as both sides clash in the first leg of the World Cup qualifying playoff

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah said Egypt's achievements give his side extra motivation to emerge winners from an anticipated World Cup qualifying playoff.
The Pharaohs have blossomed in the past decade, winning three successive African Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
However, they still failed to end their barren World Cup qualifying run, having lost to Algeria in a playoff in 2009.
"Their record in its sense means that we cannot look down on them," Appiah told Ghana's Football Association website on Wednesday.
"We can't get complacent. We have to prepare well and remain focused."
Ghana host Egypt in the first leg in Kumasi on Tuesday. The return leg will be played in Cairo on 19 November.
"It's a big game. It's a game which is important to all Ghanaians and every member on my team is aware of that," Appiah added.
"Egypt are seven-time African champions and trying to reach the World Cup for the first time since 1990. That will give them some added boost going into the game."
