Former Egypt skipper Ahmed Hassan has returned to Zamalek's squad for the Egypt Cup final against Wadi Degla on Saturday. Coach Helmi Toulan announced the 19-man squad on Thursday. The winner of 21 cups are bidding for their first trophy since 2008 against new outfit Wadi Degla, who are led by former Egypt Olympic team coach Hany Ramzy. The Cairo-based club's arch-rivals Ahly, who have won the cup a record 33 times, withdrew from the competition over a sponsorship dispute with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA). The tournament, which is being held behind closed doors, is the first domestic football activity in Egypt since the army ousted president Mohamed Morsi on 3 July amid mass protests. Security worries loom as Zamalek's hardcore fans, Ultras White Knights, vowed on Wednesday to break the crowd ban which the interior ministry has told the EFA must be enforced. The match will be held one day before the CAF Champions League final between Ahly and Orlando Pirates, and ten days before the World Cup playoff between Egypt and Ghana. Both matches will be held in Cairo with supporters in attendance.
