Bradley to coach Egypt against Ghana: Official Under-fire American coach will lead return leg against Ghana on 19 November despite rumours of his dismissal following Egypt's drubbing
American tactician Bob Bradley will remain in charge of the Egypt team when they host Ghana on 19 November in Cairo for the return leg of the World Cup playoffs. Egyptian Football Association (EFA) board member Mahmoud El-Shamy played down circulating rumours that the committee may sack the coach following last week's thrashing 6-1 defeat against Ghana in the away leg. "There is no vote on the future of Bob Bradley. We made our decision a few days ago and he will definitely remain until the end of his contract," El-Shamy said in a statement published on the EFA website on Monday. Officials have tried to persuade Bradley to step down, but he has refused, stressing that he wants to carry on his mission to the end. "If it is left to me I would be with the team because we had been together throughout this period with a dream. It's important that we can stand together one more time," Bradley told AP on Monday. Bradley has been carrying the Pharaohs' dream of reaching the World Cup finals for the first time since 1990. This dream turned into a nightmare after last week's Kumasi hammering. "If we don't manage to make a miracle, then I'll be finished," Bradley said. "I will leave feeling sad for everyone but also knowing that we gave everything we had to try and make it happen," he concluded.
