Goalkeeper El-Sayed back for Zamalek after recovering from injury Team skipper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed should be available for Zamalek's upcoming Egyptian Premier League games after recovering from rib injury
Egypt and Zamalek goalkeeper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed has been declared fit to take part in the final game of the Egyptian Premier League group stage next week. The Zamalek skipper has fully recovered from a rib injury that prevented him from participating in Egypt's wins over Zimbabwe and Mozambique in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers last month. "I'm now fully ready to play. I have resumed full training," El-Sayed said on Zamalek's official website. The success-starved Cairo side, who had already qualified for the league's final phase, will face El-Gaish in their last Group B game on Wednesday. However, they will have to do without head coach Jorvan Vieira, who opted not to renew his contract after growing increasingly frustrated with the club's financial woes. He left Egypt few days before mass protests erupted in Egypt, culminating in the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) is yet to announce the timing of the final mini-league phase due to the ongoing political instability. Zamalek, who have not won the title since 2004, will compete with arch-rivals Ahly, Ismaily and ENPPI for the prestigious accolade.
