Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry suspended for three matches El-Badry will miss Ahly's first three matches of the Egyptian League's second round, against Ghazl El-Mahala, Wadi Degla and Smouha
Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry received a three-match ban for insulting Medhat Abdel-Aziz, the referee of the Red Devils last clash with Maqassa in the Egyptian Premier League. "The competitions committee decided to suspend El-Badry for three matches following his misbehaviour during the Maqassa match," the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said on its official website on Tuesday. The coach will miss Ahly's next three matches, against Ghazl El-Mahala, Wadi Degla and Smouha. El-Badry verbally abused the referee after being sent off during his team's 1-0 win over Maqassa last week. The former ENPPI and Merreikh tactician was protesting against midfielder Ahmed "Manga" Nabil's red card for a second bookable offence. The 53-year-old manager, who was also hit with a LE15,000 fine, filed an official complaint against the referee accusing him of spoiling the game with his wrong decisions. Under El-Badry's guidance, the Red Devils have delivered outstanding performances on both the domestic and continental levels this season. Titleholders Ahly qualified for the African Champions League round of 16 following an easy 2-0 home win over Kenya's Tusker on Sunday, giving the team an overall 4-1 aggregate victory. The Cairo giants currently lie at the top of the Egyptian League's Group A with 18 points from eight matches. ## (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter at@AO Sportsand on Facebook atAhramOnlineSports)
