Egyptian club Al-Ahly have announced that football coach Hossam El-Badry will file a complaint against Medhat Abdel-Aziz, the referee of the Maqassa match in Week 15 of the Egyptian Premier League.
"The referee spoiled the game with his wrong decisions all the match," the 53-year-old manager was quoted as saying on the club's official website Thursday. The referee sent El-Badry off pitch in the second half of the match.
El-Badry was protesting against showing midfielder Ahmed Nabil "Manga" a red card for a second bookable offence on 71 minutes.
Ahly's last match of the first round ended with a 1-0 victory, lifting them to the top of Group A with 18 points, three points ahead of runner-up ENPPI.
Led by Hossam Hassa, Maqassa are now sixth in the table with nine points.
"I demand the referee committee choose responsible refs for important matches like yesterday's," El-Badry added.
The case is expected to be examined by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) after the week's matches ends when Arab Contractors meet Tala Al-Geish on Thursday. El-Badry may be fined for his reaction too. ##
