Real Madrid's Essien still has a future at Chelsea The Ghanaian midfielder says he will return to Chelsea when his loan contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer
Real Madrid's Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien said on Tuesday that "nothing has changed over his Chelsea future" as he intends to return to the English Premier League side in the summer. The 30-year-old, who was loaned from Chelsea to Spanish giants Real Madrid last summer, has two years remaining in his contract with the Blues. "I have a contra ct at Chelsea and at present I am only on loan here [at Real Madrid], so nothing has changed," Essien was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccernet.com Meanwhile, the combative midfielder believes Chelsea are capable of regaining their balance after an indifferent season. Chelsea lie fourth in the Premier league table with 55 points, 22 behind leaders Manchester United with eight matches to go. "A lot of the players from the past are not there and there are new players," Essien said. "It takes time to blend all of them and create a team straight away. I am sure over time the team will know each other very well and the good times will be back."
