I will play football until the end of my days: Ivory Coast's Toure Ivory Coast's midfielder talks about his career, playing football in England and Spain, and the importance of the African Cup of Nations
Ivory Coast and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has spoken about his desire to book a regular place in the teams he played for, in an interview with a sports website. "I cherish having more playing time, having a cordial relationship with the coach and my teammates, and not just playing once in a while or serving as a joker. That to me does not correspond to what I call building a career. I am at a club to play regularly," Toure told website Cafonline on Sunday. The former Barcelona star also described the differences between Spanish and English football. "English football is more physical and more exciting. Basically, it is physically engaging in rhythm and intensity. On the other hand, Spanish football is more technical," he said. The 2011 African player of the year asks the African players who are searching for a regular playing post in Europe to go and play in England, France and Italy. "For an African, I think priority should be given to England, France and Italy," "But a player can integrate in other championships; consider, for example, what Wilfried Boni is doing in Holland." The 29-year-old believes that African Cup of Nations is the most important competition in the continent for African players, but he doesn't know where the trophy will go next season. Yaya Toure concluded his statements with by saying that he will continue playing football until the last day of his life. "I adore football and it is my life. I think that I will continue playing till the end of my days, God willing." (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter at @AO Sports and on Facebook at AhramOnlineSports)
