The newly-elected Egyptian FA board decided to resume the second, third and fourth divisions of the Egyptian football League starting from next November. New boss Gamal Allam has held his second meeting with his board members on Thursday, since his last week election, in the EFA headquarter to discuss several pending issues including the league resumption. “The second, third and fourth divisions will resume their official activities. The new season will start on 21, 24 and 30 November respectively,” a statement read on the EFA official website on Thursday. However the board failed to fix a date for the Premier League that has been halted since the Port Said catastrophe on 1 February that left 74 dead and hundreds of injured. The new season was set to start on 17 September but was delayed for one month after Ahly hardcore fans' group stormed past the EFA and Ahly headquarters protesting against the league resume until ‘justice is served'. The kick off was rescheduled to 17 October but again the EFA postponed it indefinitely because of security permissions. The ministry of interior latter on confirmed that it is ready to secure the league games. Some players, officials and even TV anchors have launched several calls to resume the league to stop the huge financial losses. A march was organised last month to push their demands. Egypt's heavyweights Zamalek and Ismaily have even called to exclude Ahly from the competition if their fans refuse their participation in order to save football in Egypt.
