Morocco's El Hamdaoui wants to play as 'second striker' at Fiorentina Italy's Fiorentina officially unveil Morocco's Mounir El Hamdaoui as one of their summer signings
Moroccan forward Mounir El Hamdaoui said he wants to play as a second striker at Fiorentina, which he joined from Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam. The 27-year-old has joined the Italian side for an undisclosed fee after cutting a forlorn figure at Ajax. "I am very happy to be here and hope to be useful for the squad," El Hamdaoui was quoted as saying by Football Italia on Saturday. “My preferred position is second striker, as I like to play around the centre-forward. I haven't played a full match in a long time, but it won't take much to rediscover my form." “I get on well with Stevan Jovetic and we will make a fine partnership.” El Hamdaoui impressed in his first season with Ajax, scoring 19 goals in 38 appearances but he did not make a single appearance last term after falling out with coach Frank de Boer.
