Diego Maradona said on Monday it was unlikely that Ivorian striker Didier Drogba will wear the Al-Wasl shirt next season, due to his high price. Drogba, who helped the English side to the UEFA Champions League title, opened the door to all clubs who are interested his services, after rejecting a one-year contract extension offered by the Blues. The 34-year-old striker was linked to a move to Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, which reportedly offered a lucrative deal to the Ivorian striker. "If we had a large budget, yes, it is possible to attract someone like Drogba. But I don't think the budget in mind is available here," the Argentine legend was quoted as saying by Gulfnews.com. "I've read a lot about Drogba's future and I've come to believe he's on the verge of signing for that Chinese team, who have offered him millions. I don't think we can match those figures. "[Having] Drogba at Al-Wasl is a dream and if it does come true it will be the best thing ever," he concluded. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter: @AO Sports)
