Ittihad Jeddah offers €1.5mn to extend Abd-Rabou stay Saudi giants hope to retain services of talented Egyptian midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou for one more season, according to Saudi press reports
Ittihad Jeddah have tabled a 1.5 million euro offer for Ismaily – including the player's share – to sign international midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou for a season-long loan, according to Saudi newspaper Okaz. The 28-year-old player joined the Saudi giants last February in the wake of Egypt's Port Said stadium disaster, which left more than 70 dead and hundreds injured. According to the report in the Saudi press, Coach Raul Caneda has clearly expressed his wish to hold on to the gifted Egyptian player. Ismaily, who are currently facing a major financial crisis, had initially asked for two million euros to offload Abd-Rabou. Both sides now remain at the negotiation table in an effort to reach a viable compromise. The player himself has revealed his delight with his current position, especially given the uncertain future of Egyptian football, which has been suspended since February's Port Said disaster.
