Ismaily hire 'nomadic' coach Ihab Galal to replace Jovic
Published in Ahram Online on 21 - 03 - 2021

Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily announced Sunday the signing of former Zamalek coach Ihab Galal to replace Bosnian tactician Dragan Jovic, who resigned late last week.
The 53-year-old Galal will be Ismaily's fourth coach so far this season after the departure of Brazilian Heron Ricardo Ferreira, Egyptian Mohamed Wahbah before Bosnian tactician Dragan Jovic.
Ihab Galal left Egyptian Premier League outfit Maqassa last week after reaching an agreement with Ismaily to take charge of the team who has suffered from a poor run in the domestic competition so far this season.
"Galal will start his mission with the team during Sunday's trainings," Ismaily said in a statement on Sunday.
Galal coached Maqassa for 3 seasons from 2014 to 2017, before spending some time with Enppi and Zamalek clubs during the 2017-18 season.
He coached Masry from 2018 until 2020, before returning to Maqassa again.
The "nomadic" coach is super familiar with various teams in the Egyptian Premier League, coaching in 206 games, winning 96 games and claiming the runners-up place of the domestic League for Maqassa in the 2016-17 season.
Galal, a one time Ismaili star in the 1990s, faces a difficult mission with Dervishes, who are suffering in the relegation zone of the Egyptian Premier League.
Ismaily are in the 17th place in the table with only 11 points after playing 16 games, claiming a single win so far this season.
