Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has said that the mega projects underway in Egypt represent "a big opportunity and promising market" for major foreign companies to invest in various developmental fields. All Egyptian state agencies are working as a single entity to carry out these projects, starting from the stages of agreement and contracting until the executive steps, El-Sisi added. The president's remarks were made during a meeting with Rodolphe Saadé, the CEO of France's CMA CGM Group, a world leading cargo shipping company, on Tuesday, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Transport Minister Kamel El-Wazir. The meeting tackled cooperation with the French company to operate and manage the multi-purpose terminal in Alexandria's port, given its experience in this field, the statement added. El-Sisi demanded to reinforce the port's activity regionally and internationally via applying all international standards related to ports' operation with the aim of having track-record rates of loading and unloading cargo to better the global ranking of Egyptian ports. Saadé praised the business atmosphere in Egypt, expressing his aspiration to cooperate with the country in managing ports and expanding his company's work to cover other areas beside Alexandria's port. He added that the French company is planning to set up a technological training centre to qualify youth to work in the maritime transport and logistics sector as part of its keenness to increase Egyptian cadres' capabilities.
