Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry expressed to his Finnish counterpart, Pekka Haavisto, the country's keenness to resume Finnish tourism. His remarks came during a phone call which he received from Haavisto on Wednesday, to discuss ways to develop bilateral relations between the two countries, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said in an official statement. The two ministers confirmed their aspiration to continue consultations and coordination at all levels and praised the economic relations that bring together the two countries, Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Hafez said. The ministers also discussed the importance of working to develop the bilateral intra-trade movement to achieve trade balance. According to Hafez, the call saw discussions about regional developments in the Horn of Africa, East Africa, and the latest developments in the Renaissance Dam file. The statement added that Haavisto was interested in the Egyptian vision of achieving stability and prosperity for the peoples of the region, as Shoukry briefed him on Egypt's efforts within the framework of reaching comprehensive political settlements that achieve regional peace.
