Egypt's Abd-Rabou injured in Ittihad's Saudi League win Saudi reports say midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou may be sidelined for up to six weeks after sustaining injury in Saudi league game
Egyptian midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou sustained a hamstring injury on Thursday during Ittihad's 1-0 victory over Jeddah rivals Ahly in the Saudi League. The 27-year-old initiated the move that led to Ittihad's winner after 34 minutes, but was replaced in the second half after sustaining the injury. According to Saudi reports, the Egyptian international – who was voted best player in the Pharaohs' triumphant 2008 African Cup of Nations campaign – would be out of action for up to six weeks. Abd-Rabou joined Ittihad on loan from Egyptian side Ismaily until the end of the season following last month's Port Said stadium disaster, which resulted in the indefinite suspension of all domestic football activity. He recently said he was "enjoying his experience" with Saudi football. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter: @AO Sports) http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/38091.aspx
