Moroccan actor Youssef Kerkour scoops BAFTA nomination

Moroccan actor Youssef Kerkour has been nominated for the BAFTA for Best Male Comedy Performance for his role as Sami Ibrahim in the British comedy series Home, directed by David Sant and aired on Channel 4.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the nominees yesterday.
Kerkour is nominated alongside three other actors: Jamie Demetriou (for Stath Lets Flats), Ncuti Gatwa (for Sex Education), and Guz Khan (for Man Like Mobeen).
Kerkour was born and raised in Morocco, and went on to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) and at Bard College in upstate New York.
He was formerly a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
He is known for acting in numerous television series since the early 2000s, with the most recent ones being Baghdad Central (2020), Sex Education (2020), Dracula (2020), Gavin & Stacey (2019), Criminal: UK (2019), and Close (2019).
