Masry secured their place in the Confederation Cup last eight after defeating FC Nouadhibou of Mauritania 1-0 at Suez stadium on Sunday. Defender Saidou Simpore scored a late goal three minutes from time, helping his side earn a difficult win. Masry are now second of the Group with nine points, three behind leaders and compatriots Pyramids, who lost 1-0 to Nigerian side Enugu Rangers earlier on Sunday. Masry will end their group stage campaign on 2 February with a game against Enugu Rangers, who lie third with five points.
