Egypt's Pyramids FC hit Mauritania's Nouadhibou for six in Confed Cup

Egyptian side Pyramids FC maintained their winning streak in the African Confederation Cup after thumping Mauritania's Nouadhibou 6-0 in Cairo on Sunday.
Doubles from Mohamed Farouk and Eric Traore plus goals from John Antwi and Wilfried Kanon handed the visitors a humiliating loss as Pyramids went level with compatriots Masry on top of Group A.
The Egyptian clubs have six points apiece, with Nouadhibou and Nigeria's Enugu Rangers failing to collect a single point after two matches. Pyramids and Masry face off on 29 December in their next game.
Winger Farouk needed 10 minutes to open the scoring against Nouadhibou in superb fashion, finding the corner of the net with a delightful curling free kick.
Burkinabe Eric Traore doubled the lead in the 32nd minute with a free, close-range header before setting up Antwi for the third on 52 minutes with a fine piece of individual skill.
He slalomed between two defenders and pulled the ball back for Ghanaian striker Antwi for an easy tap-in into an empty net to end the match as a contest.
Farouk made it 4-0 four minutes later when he side-footed home a corner and Wilfried Kanon added the fifth with an angled effort after the keeper parried a snap shot into his path.
Traore completed the rout six minutes from time as Pyramids continued their impressive run in Africa's secondary club competition.
