Galatasaray were not the only side that contacted me. I turned down two transfer offers from another two big Turkish clubs." Despite a slow start with Villa, Trezeguet gained the confidence of coach Dean Smith and reserved a place with the team's starting 11 as he made 24 appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
