Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed during a meeting on Sunday with Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) QU Dongyu a number of issues including cooperation and promoting development projects between Egypt and African states to improve food security in Africa. Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said that President El-Sisi hailed the cooperation between Egypt and the FAO on food security and agricultural development, and expressed keenness to boost ties even further, pointing out that Egypt gives priority to the agricultural sector as a means to achieve sustainable development in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
The FAO director hailed the cooperation between his organization and Egypt in many areas, highlighting projects currently being carried out by the FAO.
He expressed his organization's support for new projects being implemented in Egypt as well as plans to apply modern agricultural technologies with the aim of improving agriculture and irrigation systems.
