Ghana and Marseille midfielder Andre Ayew has decided to postpone a shoulder operation to repair a dislocation he picked at the African Cup of Nations. “I've dislocated my shoulder several times. It's no longer staying in place properly. If I have an operation now my season is over,” Ayew was quoted as saying by Kickoff.com on Wednesday. “That won't be beneficial either for me or for the club,” the 22-year-old added. Despite playing for French club Marseille in Sunday's 1-0 loss, brothers Andre and Jordan Ayew have withdrawn from Ghana's squad for Wednesday's friendly with Chile in Philadelphia. “I will have to grit my teeth as I have been doing for a while now,” explained Andre whose operation date will be a concern for the Black Stars which take on both Lesotho and Zambia at the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in June. “When it no longer holds, I will have to go under (the surgeon's knife). But if I can hold out until the end of the season, (I will),” the 2011 BBC African footballer of the year concluded.
