Egypt and World number 2 Nour El-Sherbini defeated surprise package Hania El-Hammamy in straight sets to reach her fifth World Championship final on Thursday. The 11-6, 11-2 and 11-5 hammering in 34 minutes puts El-Sherbini on the brink of a fourth World title after her previous accolades in 2015, 2016 and 2018-19. 19-year old Hammamy, who was crowned World Junior Champion in August, had a dream run this year as she reached the semi-finals in his first ever appearance in the competition after beating World number 3 Camille Serme of France on Wednesday. El-Hammamy seemed totally exhausted following her marathon game in the quarter-final against Serme that lasted for 69 minutes. Defending Champion El-Sherbini, who is playing his first major tournament since her return from a knee injury, will face her compatriot and World number's 1 Raneem El-Welily in the final match on Friday. Earlier on Thursday, El-Welily beat Nouran Gohar 3-1 in the other semi-final.
