Egypt military court releases the brother of Sadat's Killer
After living in exile for two decades Mohamed Shawki, Khaled Al Islambouli's brother, is released on health grounds by an Egyptian military court

An Egyptian military court in Cairo has ordered the release of Mohamed Shawky El-Islambouli on health grounds on Sunday.
El Islambouli , the brother of late President Sadat's killer Khaled El-Islambouli had fled the country in 1985 after a brief detention where he moved across Afghanistan, Pakistan before settling in Iran.
In 1992, a military court sentenced him to death on terrorism charges in a case related to the return of Egyptian Islamists fighters from Afghanistan.
El-Islambouli had stayed in Iran for 8 years before he was deported to Egypt in May 2011.
Security forces arrested El-Islambouli upon his arrival at the Cairo International airport and he was set to face a retrial.
Mohamed Shawky El-Islambouli was seriously injured during the retrial when a prison transport vehicle ferrying him and other prisoners crashed.
Several Islamists sentenced in absentia have returned to Cairo from exile since the ousting of Mubarak in February 2011 in order to appeal court rulings against them.
