Khaled El Islamboly's older brother, a leader in The Islamic Group, arrived at Cairo International Airport Sunday. Mohamed Ahmed Shawky El Islamboly was sentenced to death in absentia by a military court in a case concerning returnees from Afghanistan. Khaled El Islamboly assassinated former President Anwar Sadat. El Islamboly was accompanied by Mostafa Hamed, a historian associated with the Islamic Movements. He was met by family members and a number of Islamist leaders such as Essam Derbala, Kamal Habib Montaser El Zayat, and Amr Abdel Moneim. Contrary to reports, El Islamboly was in good health. He said he is happy to return back to Egypt after the end of Mubarak's regime. After Iranian authorities informed El Islamboly that he had to leave Iran to Pakistan or Egypt, he traveled to Pakistan where his health deteriorated.
