Ramadan Sobhi fires Egypt U23 to victory against South Africa ahead of African U23 Cup of Nations

A first half penalty from Ramadan Sobhi earned Egypt's U23 team a 1-0 victory against South Africa on Sunday in their last warm up game ahead of next month's Africa U23 Cup of Nations.
The Ahly winger won the penalty himself after being tripped by Keanu Cupido. Ramadan then stepped up and made no mistake from the spot in the 29th minute.
However Shawki Gharib men were far from impressing against a dominant South African side.
Playing with an usual 3-4-3 scheme, the young Pharaohs were dominated by their visitors who lacked efficiency in front of goal.
The Egyptians failed to improve their game leaving many doubts before the African Cup that will be held in Cairo from 8 to 22 November.
Both sides has already ties 1-1 last Friday
Egypt have been drawn in Group A of the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations alongside Cameroon, Ghana and Mali.
South Africa are in Group B of the tournament alongside, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Zambia.
The first three teams will qualify directly to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, while the fourth-place finisher will play against a team from the Asian Football Confederation, to also book a seat in the Olympics.
Egypt finished third at the 2011 U23 Nations Cup and suffered an embarrassing group-stage exit in the 2015 edition.
